Giving Your Blood

a precious offering ~

offering of my diluted moon blood in rain water. a gift for the Earth.

From the moment most girls first receive their moonblood, she is immediately taught to stuff her vagina with bleached cotton and then to dispose of the "hazardous waste" in the trash. To the landfill goes her life force. Tampons and cotton pads are from genetically modified cotton which is sprayed with intensely harsh pesticides and chemicals. Then it is plucked from the plant, processed with more chemicals like bleach, and boxed off to the supermarket. Mothers trust that the products they are providing for their daughters are good, but little do they know it can be causing them immense pain.

There are other ways to collect your blood.

You don't have to always put it in the trash or flush it down the drain.

What if I told you that were was an ancient, sacred, and simple way to actually honor your blood? Think about how much life-force is in your womb's blood. An actual human can grow from this tissue!

You come from a lineage of amazingly strong women. Think about where your mother's mother's mother's mother came from. She most likely lived a life dependent on Nature. Imagine her roaming the land, collecting wild plants and harvesting mushrooms and berries. She knew exactly where the medicine plants were and where the food plants were. She collected seeds and saved them for next season. She watched the phases of the moon and gathered with her female relatives to tell stories under the stars. Her body was so connected to the world around her. It was a natural thing for her to bleed on the Earth or to offer her blood cloth to the soil.

Your blood is not nasty.

Your blood is not dirty.

Your blood is life-giving,

it is an offering of your truest essence!

When we begin offering our menstrual blood to the land (or even to our house plants!) we are creating a deep bond with where we are. We are putting our prayers directly on the plants, into the soil, into the roots. This is radical in our modern world, but like I mentioned, this is ancestral. I invite you, sister, to begin collecting your moon blood. Say goodbye to the toxic collection methods I mentioned above and try something different.

- free bleeding: not wearing anything to collect your blood and squatting on the Earth

(I am not endorsed by any of these products, I just love them!)

If you are using a collection method, I suggest rinsing the panty or fabric with water in a special bucket only for your blood. This way it is already diluted and you can go right out to the garden. If you are collecting in a cup or sponge, either dump the blood into a jar until you can take it to the Earth, or pour it directly onto the soil. The more you do this, the more intuitive it becomes. You'll want to do this in a place away from too much foot traffic. If you are in a more public setting, I suggest digging a hole and burying your blood into the soil. I also like to pour my diluted blood onto the roots of my dearest tree relatives. The bonds I have created by doing this are really special! Flow with your process and connect, from your womb-space, to your lineage.

Why do we do this? Think about how much the Earth provides us with every single moment of every single day. We owe so much to this miraculous planet. Giving your blood to the Earth is sharing your life force with that which has given you life! Give gratitude through your blood, pray your hopes and dreams into it, sing songs of thanksgiving, shed any negative emotions, ask for a new start. Watch what unfolds in your life once you begin truly connecting in this way.

And sister, before you go...

I want to tell you that is completely natural! Remember, your blood is of this Earth. Be mindful of where and when you do this offering, but trust that it is from a good place. Do not be afraid to speak to the land from which you came! She knows you, she loves you, she is waiting for you!

Still not sure? Email me for a consultation, and I can help you with this process.

All my love!,

Michele

** Another amazing reason to collect your moon blood is to read your body. Your womb blood is an ORACLE. Your blood says a lot about where you are physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually. I will discuss this in a later post. Stay tuned!
