Mary Magdalene

The woman to see the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. This is what is said in the Bible. I grew up going to a Grace Church, which was very focused on the New Testament and the life of Jesus. I remember being a small girl and wondering, where are the stories of women? This church I was raised in barely spoke of Mother Mary, except during Christmas. Or of the naughty and sinful Eve of Genesis (which I will post about at another time). So who was Mary Magdalene, and why am I bringing her up here?

For such a major world religion, isn't it unfortunate that this woman gets no credit for what she witnessed? For the teachings she held and shared? Without Mary going back down to the tomb, who would have know that Christ had risen? Perhaps there are more questions than answers, but something I know for sure is that Mary Magdalene is awakening - within the hearts of M A N Y of us.

Mary is a woman of our times.

She might have physically walked the Earth along side Yeshua 2,500 years ago, but she now walks within many of us on the Path of the Rose. What do I mean by this? Well, let's take a look at what Mary represents for the world right now by peering more into what she could have been like back then.

There are many works fiction and non-fiction, the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, channeled manuscripts, eye-witness accounts, along with personal stories and reflections regarding who she was (and is). From my own research, it is very much suggested that Mary was a Woman of Wisdom, an educated Priestess. She knew how to navigate the human body, using the senses to perceive more deeply. She was a Death Doula, understanding the profound nature of transitioning out of the human vessel. She was a seer & a scry. She was prayer & devotion embodied, devoted to the messages of love, service, compassion, and peace. She was the beloved of Yeshua the Nazarene, perhaps even his consort. She was certainly his most loyal and committed student and disciple of the Path of Liberation. Because of her deep sense of perception, she was able to understand Yeshua's teachings in a visceral and integrated way. All of this can be more understood in the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, translated by Jean-Yves Leloup.

We don't know for certain what became of Mary after Yeshua left his body. But with such a potent and rich history in France, I feel confident in the stories of her living out the rest of her life there. Imagine having to watch your beloved suffer, die, bury him yourself, and then see him out of his earthly body! Then having to leave the country in fear of your life (and potentially your child's!). There is a rich culture in France, especially in the South where Mary's boat is said to have washed up, of Mary Magdalene taking residency in the hillsides. There is a great devotion to her there, because it was she who brought the teaching of Yeshua there. I feel it is safe to say that she in fact did exist, was a devoted student and most likely wife of Yeshua, and went on to carry his ministry and perhaps even his child (you can research Sar'h or Sarah, daughter of Mary & Jesus).

So why all the excitement over her in 2019? Because she represents the awakened Feminine Christ. Ever noticed how masculine, controlling, and downright scary Christianity has been? This religion has been the cause of many wars and millions of deaths. That clearly isn't the message of Christ. Mary comes to us now with fierce grace, reminding us, particularly women, of our immense power and force. We have been degraded for so very long, and that time is coming to an end FAST. She is the Flame of the Sacred Heart, the never-ending Rose opening up to humanity reminding us to take care. Of everything and everyone. She has been embers for centuries and now grows brighter in each of us who remember the medicine of E M B O D I M E N T. How sacred these bodies are! How holy these lands are! We have to take care, we have to teach, hear, understand, speak, act ... from a place of radical love and devotion to what is Good.

Mary Magdalene is the medicine of these chaotic times.

As a woman, I find my connection to Mary and her carrying of the Teachings to be potent and deeply resonant for me. She is who brought me back to Yeshua. Together they remind humanity of the Sacred Holy Union of all things; physical, spiritual, mental, emotional, etheric, and so on. They together represent what we can all achieve internally and externally. Fully balanced, fully aware & awake. This is what the planet needs right now.

We all know of the devastation the Earth has suffered at the hands of humans. It's happening every. single. moment. What if we were all integrating and walking in the true messages and meanings of Christ & Magdalene? Doing all things in love and respect. Acting out of service and devotion to God and to all of life. Being truthful and integral in our words, thoughts and actions. Walking with kindness and grace for the benefit of others. Could you imagine what impact we would have on the Earth then?!

Don't take my words for truth but do your own reflecting on Mary Magdalene. Ask her to come to you, to guide you. Read all of the books and watch all of the documentaries. Visit the places she walked and talk to the people who are devoted to her. See how this sits in your heart, in your womb. Be open. Be curious. Be love.
